Casey Donovan and Urban Stone Together

While on a production break from the hit musical The Sapphires, Casey Donovan will come together with new wave rock band Urban Stone for a series of shows during March-April 2010.

Urban Stone –in December 2007, won the Australian final of the Global Battle Of The Bands (GBOB). They went to London, finishing 7th in the World out of 3,000 bands from 33 countries. Urban Stone returned to Australia and worked with the likes of Doc eeson (Angels) and Ian Moss, (Cold Chisel). Their debut album, That’s What She Said was released in November 2009 and the band is headlining at the Oceania Rock Festival in Noumea in 2010. Urban Stone is certain to continue to make their mark on the Australian music scene.

Ladies of Jazz – Starring Christine Anu, Grace Knight, Monica Trapaga & Paulini will return in October 2009 for a series of concerts, paying homage to the iconic artists of Jazz & Blues music.

 “I feel I’m still learning about jazz, so it’s great to have some young blood around to challenge us, and some older blood to remind us why we started doing it in the first place!” Says Monica Trapaga

Christine Anu, iconic indigenous Australian performer, has been appointed Patron to the charity Buk bilong Pikinini. 

Buk bilong Pikinini, an independent charity based in Port Moresby was set up in 2007 by Anne-Sophie Hermann, the spouse of the Australian High Commissioner to PNG and Anna Mukerjee when they realized that there was an urgent need for children’s books and libraries in PNG. more»

Emmanuel Mailau, talented new singer/songwriter from PNG will feature in a regular monthly segment on the National Broadcasting Cooperation's (NBC) "Tribe" (90.7 FM) youth program. The new segment, titled, "Diary of a Rising Star" involves Emmanuel sharing his amazing journey as he weaves his way through the music industry and shares samples of some of the music he has recently completed. The first show is set to go live to air on Wednesday the 13 May at 3.00pm and subsequent shows will air at the same time on the first Wednesday of every month.
